Is it on a second partition of your Win7 hard drive or, as I'd prefer, on a separate hard drive?
How do I downgrade window 8 consumers preview to my original window 7.

I downloaded it from the Internet as a try out, then it took control. Now I need my window 7 back. It's a Dell Inspiron i3. Thak you
If you're created a dual boot option, you'll need to remove the Win8 option from the boot loader. Use msconfig to check for a Win8 line in the "boot" tab. Remove that line if present. Reboot the machine and you should now be able to format the Win8 partition, remove it, or whatever.
the fact that you give me the impression that you installed Win 8 on the top of Win 7.
No partitions, no dual boot, just plain old "upgrade" from 7 to 8
You have also avoided answering the important questions posed by responders to your question.
Is that what how you installed Win 8?
