Window 10 "Spring Creators" Update Set for April 10

Mar 28, 2018 11:08AM PDT

See the links below which discusses the upcoming "major" Spring Creators Update. Although not quite there and the April 10 date is still "probable", we're nearing the final release. This has also been posted in the Windows 10 forum.:

https://www.techradar.com/news/windows-10-spring-creators-update-reportedly-set-for-april-10-release

https://betanews.com/2018/03/27/microsoft-windows-10-spring-creators-update-build-17133/

At this point, I'm not in a real hurry to move on to this major "Spring" update, so I haven't checked to see if the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool has this particular version. I'll get to it soon enough.

Hope this helps.

Yea Right!

But I usually am one of the first to install the latest updates. I've usually got a couple of test machines I can run stuff on and it helps to know what the new bugs are. We'll see how this one goes, although I've not had any real problems with the previous new builds for Win10 except with CHKDSK failures. But even that was fixed.

Hope this helps.

For Those Who'd Like To Delay The Spring Creators Update
Apr 6, 2018 11:40AM PDT

Although there haven't been any major changes in the Spring Creators Update (it does look like "Homegroup" may be gone though), and therefore no major issues have been seen, there will still be some who want to delay this major update as long as possible. See the link below for such an option.

"If you have been dreading the incoming release of Windows 10 Spring Creators Update and don’t feel like jumping on to the latest Windows 10 version right away, you can easily delay the update for a few days to read its reviews and wait for it to get more stable."

Windows 10 1803 Public Release Reportedly Delayed
Apr 10, 2018 12:25PM PDT

Whether or not the release of the new "Spring Creators Update" is actually delayed, at this point I haven't seen it show up on the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool. Read about it further in the links below:

Windows 10 1803 Public Release Reportedly Delayed

Waiting for Windows 10 1803 / RS4 / Spring Creators Update final? Sounds like nope, not today

Although, it appears like Microsoft has already issued the first cumulative update for the new update and they've given it a new name: Windows 10 "Next". See below:

Hope this helps.

It Now May Be A Couple Of Weeks Till Release... A Bug??
Apr 11, 2018 10:46AM PDT

"The next big update for Windows 10 has been delayed while Microsoft rushes to fix a newly-discovered bug.Known variously as Windows 10 version 1803, Cumulative Update for Windows 10 Version Next, Redstone 4 and Windows 10 Spring Creators Update, it was widely thought that the update had reached RTM and was on the verge of rolling out. However, this last-minute discovery means there will be a little longer to wait."

More BSOD's Is The Reason for Spring Creators Update Delay
Apr 18, 2018 10:34AM PDT
"Microsoft admitted yesterday that the reason it did not launch the Spring Creators Update for Windows 10 last week was because of technical issues the company encountered with the supposed final release.
More precisely, Microsoft says it encountered a higher percentage of Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) errors on PCs, the company's Insiders Program managers said in a blog post yesterday."

A new name and a new build number look to be in order when the update is released later in April. Read about below:

Windows 10 April 2018 Update: Should Be Here On Monday
Apr 27, 2018 9:27AM PDT
Microsoft is finally naming its next Windows 10 update today. The Windows 10 April 2018 Update was originally scheduled to release on April 10th, but Microsoft hit a blocking bug that pushed the release to the very last day of April. Microsoft is now releasing its April update for people to manually download on Monday April 30th, before it’s more broadly rolled out to machines on May 8th.
