Question

Window 10 1709 Issue

After installing the update, several program icons in the task bar disappeared. The function is still there "under" the blank spot, but there is not visible icon. The task bar has blank spots for the missing icons, but the program can only be identified by holding the cursor over each blank spot. How do I get the icons back?

This happened to me.

I don't have a fix but it did fix itself after a few reboots and I don't recall but I may have logged out and back in.

Answer
Or You Can Find The Program's .EXE File And...

...Open Windows Explorer/File Explorer, find the actual .exe that runs the blank icon program in the task bar, then RIGHT click drag it to the task bar, choose "Pin to Taskbar". That should create a new and correct icon to start the program with.

Hope this helps.
