Question

Win7 Password issue

Nov 10, 2014 5:52AM PST

In Win XP you could get into a locked system (ie passworded) by using F8 and going into safe mode.

Is there a way of getting into a win7 computer in the same way please?

We have lost a password! Duuhhh!

I find the hidden admin account is often a blank password. If not, I use my NTPASSWD boot CD.

It's the same as XP.

Boot Safe Mode and if it's enabled it shows. If not a fine time to learn about the value of a NTPASSWORD BOOT CD and why moderator's chant over and over a few lines.

1. Have a spare Admin capable account.
2. We only lose what we don't backup.

Heading back to the Abbey,

there is not a work around if you do not have a password. There are other means to do it but since there is no way to verify that it is your computer you are trying to get into, I will not help.
