Question

Win7 can"t install Ubuntu11.04 after many times,

managed to install Ubuntu thru Wubi third time, but had to reload h/drive due to hardware trouble. Now with new motherboard and reinstalled os , pc : Compaq 3470d using Win7 64bit,4gb ram 320gb hard-disk Norton internet security, system ok now, but just can"t install Ubuntu using wubi, thru wubi i can download and start installation process but at the end of installation, a window appear with the following message from Ubuntu Installer :- An error has occur: Permission denied. For more information
please see the log file:c/users/user/appdata/local/temp/wubi-11.04-rev211.log .I still want to install Ubuntu. Please help!

i had just tried to find that file, can" t find it anywhere! i have also tried to install Linux again, but failed again. D
on"t know the problem, . thank you Edward for taking the trouble to post your response.

I'm going through the same BS as you, trying to install Ubuntu 11.04 using Wubi on Win 7 64 bit, and there's an error around every corner... ie: 'don't have permission blah blah', 'please insert disk', etc.

Wish you had followed up with what you did to make it work Wink

I tried to d/load Ubuntu almost daily but without success, and one morning i went to Download | Ubuntu site and d/loaded Wubi , ran Wubi and it was done. But before that i suspected Antivirus software, checked IE setting without result. I hope this will help you. All the best to you!
