Can someone tell me how to get rid of this worm? I have Etrust and the real time scanner catches it regularly, when the system is idle for awhile, but it doesn't detect it during a virus scan. I went to symantec and trend micro and used their scans, but no luck.

I use Winmx on occasion, I guess that could be it. Plus I just found out that eTrust has an update available, 12.4 MB as a matter of fact. Thanks! BTW, what is HTH?

Sys restore

I also think that maybe turning off system restore in winxp may have actually deleted the worm with the restore points. After I updated eTrust, it just seemed to have disappeared. Is that possible?

Yes, that is possible if that is where

there worm was hiding. When you shut it off, it gets rid of all the restore points, including any worms that were in there. If everything is showing up clean now, I would turn it back on. The worm won't come back unless you go back to the same place where you acquired it in the first place.
