WIN2K users can't use scanner

Hi.
Our family pc (Dell Dimension V400, P2) runs on WIN2K. We have a scanner CanonScan N640P. We have 4 users on the pc, but only the manager can use the scanner. The rest of the users get an error window that says that the scanner's executable file has generated an error and that it will be closed and it recommends to restart the program. But no matter how many times we restart the program we get the error.
Any ideas?

Canon may not have programmed the drivers to allow...

Anyone with reduced rights (ie users) to use the scanner. It's their product to fix. Not a Windows 2000 bug.
