Win10 Spring Creators Update Reportedly Set for April 10

Mar 27, 2018 8:28PM PDT

See the links below which discusses the upcoming "major" Spring Creators Update. Although not quite there, we're nearing the final release.:

https://www.techradar.com/news/windows-10-spring-creators-update-reportedly-set-for-april-10-release

https://betanews.com/2018/03/27/microsoft-windows-10-spring-creators-update-build-17133/

At this point, I'm not in a real hurry to move on to this major "Spring" update, so I haven't checked to see if the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool has this particular version. I'll get to it soon enough.

Hope this helps.

IF You'd Like To Delay The Windows 10 Spring Creators Update
Apr 5, 2018 2:04PM PDT

Although there haven't been any major changes in the latest Spring Creators Update (although it does look like "Homegroup" may be gone), and therefore no major issues have been seen, there will still be some who want to delay this major update as long as possible. There is a way. Check the link below.

"If you have been dreading the incoming release of Windows 10 Spring Creators Update and don’t feel like jumping on to the latest Windows 10 version right away, you can easily delay the update for a few days to read its reviews and wait for it to get more stable."

Glad they are finally getting rid of it!

Thanks for the warning

I use a Windows 7 desktop as my main everyday computer, but I have two Windows 10 laptops. With this advisory, I'll refrain from using those laptops (unless necessary) at least until the 1st of May when I update all my files to each laptop.

It's disturbing that Microsoft discovered a serious bug just a couple of days before the release date. Although it's obviously a good thing it was found, you can say we were two days from disaster!
This doesn't make one very confident. Also a very good reason to go with Pro version.

I downloaded it yesterday...

and one thing I like is I don't have to click on the search button to activate Cortana. It looks like the main upgrades are for virtual reality capabilities and gaming.

Worth the upgrade?

Is it worth the upgrade if you don't use the VR stuff?

Doesn't matter

You don't have a choice. It will be installed anyway.
I wonder how many people care about the VR stuff?

Reason for Spring Creators Update Delay: Higher % of BSOD's
Apr 18, 2018 10:27AM PDT
"Microsoft admitted yesterday that the reason it did not launch the Spring Creators Update for Windows 10 last week was because of technical issues the company encountered with the supposed final release.
More precisely, Microsoft says it encountered a higher percentage of Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) errors on PCs, the company's Insiders Program managers said in a blog post yesterday."

Microsoft still appears to be releasing the update in late April but with a new build number, and we're all glad they found the glitches before releasing it to the public. At this point though, there will be a new name for the update. Read about it at the link below:

Microsoft’s Windows 10 April 2018 Update Arrives on Monday
Apr 27, 2018 9:23AM PDT

As you can see, Microsoft has changed the name of the new update/upgrade to the Windows 10 April 2018 Update" instead of the "Spring Creators Update" but it appears like its finally ready to be released:

Microsoft is finally naming its next Windows 10 update today. The Windows 10 April 2018 Update was originally scheduled to release on April 10th, but Microsoft hit a blocking bug that pushed the release to the very last day of April. Microsoft is now releasing its April update for people to manually download on Monday April 30th, before it’s more broadly rolled out to machines on May 8th.

Read more about it at the links below:

Is W10's Digital Entitlement will let yet install W10 when you feel you want to try again.

Why?
Apr 27, 2018 12:18PM PDT

curious

Let's hope they share why.
Apr 27, 2018 12:28PM PDT

Over the past year the common reason is the owner finds a failed HDD or other failure and can't find restore media. W10 is very different in this area as I only need to google Microsoft Media Creation Kit to make a repair and install USB stick or DVD. The owner has their W7 to 8.1 restore media so they go back because no one shared how to make free install media.
