Question

Win10 "Different" content in "Downloads"

My Quick Access and This PC Download folders contain exactly the same files (as I expect they should be). However, my main drive Grin download folder is not the same. I was under the impression all of there folders should be the same but they aren't. How can I correct this and if I add files to Downloads, which location should I use? Thanks for any help you can give me.

I would never do that.

I'd put my files where I want them and move files out of Downloads to where I want them.

Quick Access it a feature in Windows 10

that allows you run access file most recently used or most commonly used. Its sort of like a virtual folder so you don't have to know what folder the files is in to use it. Quick Access has file that are located in any folder or library and not just the Downloads folder. If you use a file my my documents it will show in Quick access but not in the downloads folder.

I'm afraid I've not communicate this well enough...

I thought that Quick Access and This PC were merely different entry points to the same exact content located on my main drive, and regardless of how I got there I would be inside the very same folder. Am I wrong on that?

Right now my Downloads folder in Quick Access and This PC contain the same files. However, the main Downloads folder contains far fewer files. How do I correct this and make sure that id doesn't happen again in the future?

I hope this is better communicated and thanks for your help.

What you are seeing are effects

Of WINDOWS FILE EXPLORER which I feel is a mess when dealing with the TRUE PATH AND CONTENTS of folders.

A seasoned user will NOT rely on these mirages but move their files to their own folders so that a Windows update doesn't burn them.
