What is the best way to clean a registry?

- duplicate files, do you delete all items?
- Invalid registry keys?

Dear Kmaki:

It depends on what you mean. If you are talking about general registry maintenance, I suggest Registry Mechanic and TweakNow, both are great for beginners. TweakNow is free.
For more advanced users Registry First Aid is good. Registry First Aid has a powerful scanning engine and returns many more entries after each scan than most registry cleaners. Stay with the recommended fixes it offers and you'll be fine.

If you are looking for specific items in the registry, go to Start, click Run, type regedit.Go to Edit (at the top)click "Find" and type the name of the entry you are looking for. Hit "find next" until you have completed your search. When you are done restart your computer.
