WIN XP PRO -- FAX CONSOLE

by julival / September 25, 2004 5:47 PM PDT

I AM USING A FUJITSU MADE PC WITH WIN XP pro. BUT ALL ATTEMPTS TO PRACTICALLY USE THE FAX CONSOLE IN SENDING OR RECEIVING FAX HAD NEVER GONE THROUGH.

CAN ANYONE BE OF HELP TO ME.

What exactly can't you do
by AussiePete / September 25, 2004 6:05 PM PDT

is it using the console or is it the fax wont transmit.?
What modem and driver are you using?
Have you been able to make your modem work with other fax prog.?
My guess is you are not using the right modem driver - even though you can use the modem to connect to the net you are using the wrong driver - you see when you connect to the NET the modem uses a set of "Data" instruction and most modems are able to function (to a varying amounts) with a set of generic instruction. However, when it comes to faxing your modem uses the "fax" instruction sets which tend to be more modem specific (not only manufacturer but model as well).
Have a look what modem you are using if it says "standard modem" then that is your problem. You should use the exact driver and version number for your model.
If you need help with this let me know.

Your post doesn't provide enough information. What kind of problems are you having when you try to send or receive faxes. Do you get an error message?
