Win XP / Netscape 7.1 Bookmarks Vanished

by moxiefox / September 8, 2006 6:43 AM PDT

I've been using Netscape 7.1 browser constantly for a very long time. One day I launch the program and ALL of my bookmarks are no longer there. The toolbar was empty, the dropdown "bookmarks" menu file was empty.

There are other user profiles on my PC and the others did not experience this problem. It was exclusive to the Owners Profile.

In an attempt to find my bookmarks folder I've also noticed that when I go
C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Application Data\ etc. I'm unable to open the "owner" folder. I get a popup "owner not available -- Access Denied"

Are there any solutions? Would "restore" help? Thanks.

If one types XP TAKE OWNERSHIP in google.com one finds out how to take ownership of the directory and files to regain access.

In closing, wasn't 7.1 supplanted by 7.2 to fix something to do with XP?

I've had experienced the same several times, the bookmark's stuff gone , I just can't find the reasons , at last , I only use the google bookmark to prevent the disater from appearing ,I think that it is possible that the bookmark is too long and occupys too much resource , so the sys automatically handles it .
not recover , it is truncated by the sys.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
