Win XP need to change output to printers back to B/W & color

Aug 3, 2007 6:51AM PDT

I recently changed the overall output to printers from B/W + color to only B/W to help on save a little cost on inks. Now I need to print with color and I can't find out how to get it turned back on. Where I changed it was before the printers so the each printer's properties won't let me change it. I should have wrote it down and soon will if I get a resolution here. The ink bars on the printing status blocks only show black ink so I know the command is set before them. Any help someone may give would be greatly appreciated. Thanks alot for your time either way.

No color option available at printer....
Aug 4, 2007 12:21AM PDT

Since I changed the print output in XP, the individual printers properties doesn't even show an active button for turning the color on. So I know I made the change somewhere in either XP or IE. I am not positive how I did it, but it is definately not controlled by any particular printers properties. I have gone at it through start>control panel>printers and faxes> so many times that I am almost positive that it can't be done there. Thanks for your help.

WIN XP Color printing option gone...
Aug 4, 2007 7:57AM PDT

I appreciate your help, but I read through all of those topics and tried each one as well but still no color at my printer. Even when I go to my printers "properties" tab, the illustration used to show the print quality is now in B&W and doesn't have it's usually three color shades. There is a box I can check on the properties page to "print color images in black and white" and that's not even active now.

I have made a sort of "Ultimate Decision" (if you will) for the printing preferences on everything coming out of my computer. I found the perfect tab , at that time anyway, and clicked it to stop having to seperately select B&W for all my invoice printing. Now I can't find it at all and I am getting closer to a full restore every day. I need to get my color option available again atleast... then I'll mark my steps down and be a little better equipped if I ever need to change it back.

Hopefully someone here can help me and I truly appreciate anyone's attempt.

click on settings

click on printers

right click on the printer you are using

click on printing preferences

uncheck the box that says print in B&W

click ok.

It should now print in color.
