Mar 19, 2005 6:18AM PST

Dear Cnet and People,
I plan to connect my main system: Athlon 1600 xp, Compex network card Win xp Home SP2 with my Laptop Toshiba Satellite 1730CDT Win Me. Will it work ? I am asking this because a friend of mine said me that it will nott because connecting Win XP with Won Me is tricky. Do you know these tricks so that I connect them ?
Dedicated always,

The basics are:

1) workgroup names the same on both
2) file and print sharing enabled
3) something set to be shared (folder)
4) XPs firewall set to except file and print sharing

How do you propose to connect the two?

First of all thanks for the list. Secondly, on the main system I will use the Compex network adapter and for the laptop I have a network card which connects to the USB of the Laptop and it delivers a UTP portt. Of course I have and the appropriate cable.
And again Thanks !

Well it must be the correct one cause I used it before to connect two computers with network cards directly without any HUB or routers and stuff . Anyway, I will try it . Thanks for the advice and may GOD bless Cnet for hosting these forums .
Thanks again and see you at the forums .
