Win XP Fax Program

by dromel / March 18, 2005 2:26 PM PST

I have been using the WinXP (Pro) Fax Program for months with no problem. Suddenly, it just won't send a fax. I go through the whole "send" routine, and at the "finish", my Fax just disappears. Not in "outbox", not in "sent"; all gone.
I have uninstalled, re-booted and reinstalled, but to no avail. The fax "receive" works just fine and the modem works as well on ISP dial ups and phone dials. My "restore" points don't go back far enough.
Any thoughts???

Incorrect modem driver!

For fax capabilities to work 100% you must have the exact driver written for your modem. So either winxp pro is using the wrong driver or your system is. Check these items first and if you still have troubles let me know and we can do some further diagnostics.

Modem driver ok
by dromel / March 19, 2005 7:05 AM PST

I deleted and than reinstalled the modem driver using the supplied software. No change.

I changed the Fax Sevices to manual. No change.

I changed the default file viewer progs for .TIF files. No change

The modem works just fine with dial outs from ACT!, or to dial up my ISP, so I fear that "our fate lies not in our modem, but in our program". (sic)

Same Fax Problem
by dirtsurfer / March 19, 2005 6:49 AM PST

I have winfax and it worked just fine, then today I could not send a fax, I can receive but it will not send. I'm wondering, should I install Winxp fax, Is it included in the cd?

I have Winxp Home edition SvcPack2, I just installed AOL update 9.0 Security Edition...could this have something to do with it? worked fine up till then.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
