Win TV USB2?

Dec 18, 2004 8:43AM PST

I would like to know what is the difference between the WinTV USB2, and the WinTV USB1. As far as I can see, there doesn't seem to be much difference, and I can get the WinTV USB1 for $100 less.

Does anyone have any information on this?

Do you mean USB 2.0 and 1.1?

USB 2.0 is much faster, will also accept 1.1. Therefore
will cost more. As far as a version 2 as opposed to a version 1, look at features of both. Probably a good reason for the $100.00 price difference. chuck

Well I have the Wintv usb1 it is OK http://www.hauppage.com/pages/products/data_usb.html
the USB2 is the PVR verson with the usb2 the picture should be better it also has a remote. The one youy linked to is a much higher end unit thus the $100 difference
Are you planing to use this on a laptop or desktop? If desktop also check out pci cards. Both ATI and Hauppauge have very pci tuner cards. So in some ways you are talking apples to oranges. Also check out this link

Alot depends on what you went to use it for. John
