Win Mail/ Word 2007 Home Student incompatibility

by geralda / March 1, 2009 10:30 AM PST

My new laptop came with Vista Home Basic,Win Mail, and Word2007Home/Student.

I am unable to attach a Word2007Home/Student document to a WinMail e-mail.
I have tried doing this from the Word document page and the popup that says send e-mail is faded out.
I have also tried to perform the attachment from Win Mail but it says cannot find document.
Reduced to copy/pasting of the document into an e-mail makes the margins, and pagination come out wrong.

This seems very strange to me since one would think that a program for students would allow documents to be sent by e-mail. Any solutions would be most appreciated. Thank you

Here it works if I...

If I run my email application and attach the file in my email app it works just fine.

Why would we need to do this in Word?

Unfortunately,as I mentioned above, when I tried to used the e-mail application, the attachment would appear in the attachment window of the e-mail BUT when I click send, I get a message: file not found.

That is why I tried sending it from the Word2007 Home/Student which has the "send as e-mail" popup faded out and unusable.

It must be some incompatibility between the Vista Windows Mail and the Student edition of Word. Who knows why yours works and mine doesn't? But thanks for letting me know.

Specifically, HOW, what steps are you attaching the file.

It all works here as an attachment. Some poor soul had tried to do this and was attaching "shortcuts." They were very confused over that.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
