win i7 notebook security settings

Jun 14, 2010 5:18AM PDT

I have a desktop connected by lan to a verizon FIOS router, 4 mo new.
I recently bought a Sony i7, win 7 notebook and tried to setup a WiFi connection with WPA2-PSK. I am new to win 7.
Somehow I set up a security encription that does not match the router and has shut down the notebook from making an Internet connection or the address of the WEP router.
Q: How do I reset the notebook security settings to match the router?

Change the router

Change the router settings, not your laptop. WEP encryption is just barely this side of useless. It can be broken within minutes on an average PC.

So, you'd be very well advised to change the router's settings to at least WPA, but WPA2 is even better. May as well at least make it sporting for the potential bandwidth thieves in your area.
