My understanding of Computers is enough to be dangerous.
I bought a Media Sys. from OKORO Media sys. They went out of Buss. I am having severale problems that my researched told me to make this change. My system is i7-920, 3 gig ram, Raid 5 with 4 1TB HD, 1 500 Gb C drive. 4 HD Tuners. Win Vista Ultimate 32. ASUS P6T MB.
I bought a i7-970, 6 Gb Corsair Dom. Ram, Win 7 Ultimate 64 Bit, and a OCZ 120 gig SSD to use as my C Drive. Now I was told that I am asking for trouble to go to 64 Bit. Please someone help me???

Asking for trouble no matter which OS change. WHY?
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / April 6, 2011 4:54 AM PDT

Looking at your machine you see RAID 5. What I find is many times this is a software raid and given how many times I find folk with no backup, this one item is a deep concern.

Next you see 4 HD Tuners. Another item bound to create support and install issues.

--> If the new system is blank and you want to install 7 64 bit, now's the time.

Thank you again for your input.

YOUR CHOICE.
by R. Proffitt Forum moderator / April 6, 2011 12:24 PM PDT

After watching too many folk use such software and can't restore because EVERYTHING was being restored which gets us a non-working OS on the new machine you begin to wonder how many can get a backup done.

Here I use a simple copy of my files off to an external HDD (2 or 3 drives!) and CLONEZILLA if I want to save an image to the externals.

As to Acronis, I don't use it. Maybe they will share how it will help.
