Question

Win 7 on IBM Thinkpad

by fleetwoodmac81 / June 18, 2015 10:57 AM PDT

Hey all,
I'm trying to reinstall Windows 7 on my mum's boyfriend's lenovo thinkpad t40 but it's asking for drivers and I can't install it. I tried it with two different Win7 CDs and it said the same thing, that I can't choose a drive cause there's no drivers.

Anyone know how I can fix this?

I've yet to have a clean Windows 7 ask for drivers.

Is this Windows 7 some crack copy? That could explain a lot.

Fix? Order the restore media from Lenovo or just install some Linux.

Windows 7.

Although he did go to some friend who apparently installed a 'real' windows 7 on his laptop but it turned out to be a fake, it's why we're trying to reinstall

I've only installing Windows 7 a few thousand times. Not one did it ask for drivers. There are many web pages on installing Windows 7 so I suggest you wipe the drive and start clean.
