Question

Win 7, Feb. 9,or 10, 2015 update problem

Feb 14, 2015 4:03AM PST

Hi, I have a dell 17R laptop, w/ i5, 8gig ram, 550gigHD.
Fully updated W7. There were a few automatic updates
last week around the 8th to 10th.
I came home from work and decided to watch a little Hulu TV and noticed that every few minutes the screen would freeze and a sound like microphone feedback would happen to the audio. Every several minutes this would occur. This problem also occurs on every video website. Thought it might be something with the broadband; but the other computer did not have this problem watching online videos.
I checked hardware for problems (useless function in windows as this feature has never found a problem with any malfunction) and nothing!!!
Just on a whim, I decided to do a system restore. It offered 2 restore points before Feb. 8; so I restored to that point. The problem disappeared.
My question? What kind of Win. update would cause my audio/video to malfunction? this is the first time this has ever happened. Someone please enlighten me. Thanks!

I see the usual testing method.

But the one recurring bomb is accepting drivers from Microsoft. I guess some will continue to do that.

The other bomb I encounter is when the PC has prior OS damage or some current malware. There's so much out today.

Answer
did you try another browser

did you try another browser? some of the latest browser updates have made a mess of video playing for some. also there have been issues with some flash addons that have not been kept updated. so you may want to disable any you may have installed to see if it helps.
