Win 7 burning issues

Aug 18, 2009 1:31AM PDT

Hello,I am having some issues with burning discs in Windows 7.I installed Windows 7 32 bit with my old hardware and had no problems with cd discs. But,had some minor issues with dvd's.
I went ahead and upgraded to another board and q9550 gigs of ram etc....After i upgraded my software i thought,I will give the 64 bit version a try. So,I did a clean install of windows 7 64 bit.NOW,the pc will get to between 9% to 17 % of burning a audio disc and freezes the pc.on dvd's simply wont burn at all.Untill reboot, where it tries to burn whatever disc that may be in the drive.I have tried to burn audio disc's with real player,i tunes windows media player and nero.all, with poor results.Anyone who can point me in the direction of a fix ,it would be appreciated.

I had similar issue when preparing for Win 7 RC

I did the ISO burn on a DVD+-RW disk without problems.I bought some new DVD-RW discs to use for to backup my other files and found a problem while trying to format the discs with NERO/INCD-4. I tried multiple disks without success. Reinstalled NERO/INCD and still no success. Went to Sony web site (DVD drive) and found latest firmware. Downloaded and installed and DVD-RW formatted just fine. I had not used the DVD-RW before.

Win & Burn to Disc Problems
Feb 4, 2011 12:32PM PST

I have a new Toshiba A505-6030 (Win7 Pro, I7, 4gb ram 500gb hd Multi-DVD) that is having DVD burning problems as well. It hangs when using Burn to Disc but if I use Nero 10 the same files burn just fine so afaict it appears to be a Win7 problem. I havent tried CD's but I figure if DVD+R works with Nero then my system should handle a CD if i need it to. I just don't understand why the B2D function hangs. Ideas ??
