Question

win 10 update notice

Using Win 8.1 , unable to remove win10 upgrade notice on desktop. I deleted related files. Problem disappeared for two days then came back. What files do I need to delete?

You can google up Never10 if you must. The office and home is all up to 10 now.

Open the Control Panel, then Programs and Features, and in the left side of the screen hit the “View installed updates” section. Once there, look for the update KB3035583 in the list, right-click it and hit the remove option. The next time Windows attempts to do it's automatic updates, you'll want to hide that particular update so it doesn't try to install again.

That particular update usually gets rid of the Win10 upgrade notice for most.

I deleted the KB file mentioned. Win10 notice disappeared for two days them cam back. Seems there are no other files to delete.

Checked To See Whether That Update Returned?

Remember, after you delete such an update, Microsoft will attempt to reinstall the update again. If you've got your Windows Updates set to automatically install, the same update will reinstall itself. The trick is, to make sure the update disappears and is "hidden" the next time it tries to reinstall itself.
