they are different technologies running on different frequencies, but, you can now get a router style device, that will connect to; Wi-MAX, Wi-Fi, RJ45 Ports for wired network and RJ11 Ports for home telephone,
So when this technology is implemented, you will have telephones computers, and other networkable devices(Mobile phones, digital picture frames, ect...) all running of the same router, with no telephone required(you can also connect these routers to a PSTN port)
