Resolved Question

will this work?

Jun 9, 2014 1:59AM PDT

Here's the link to my MOBO.
www.msi.com/product/mb/H77MAG43.html

First, will this RAM work?
Second, is going from ~700MHz to 1600MHz noticeable?

Currently have 4x2GB @ 700MHz. Using this PC for video editing, processing, 3D modeling, etc, and sometimes hangs on files over 50GB.

Additionally, looking for a BR/DVD 5.25", and cannot seem to find one that is similar to the Wii. If anyone has a link to a Wii style disk load thing that would be the best since sliced bread.

I'm over at crucial.com or kingston. Today it's gotten too complex to check the dozen variables.

CPU-Z
Jun 9, 2014 8:46AM PDT

when checking Speccy or CPU-Z, both are saying the frequency is at 665.1 MHz, and decided to just round it up to 700mhz. The RAM's brand is Nanya Technology. Never heard of these people but the RAM was dirt cheap two years ago. 8GB in 4x2GB, for only 30 bucks. It also says 9-9-9-24, and each stick of RAM has a different speed; 457mhz, 533mhz, 609mhz, and 665mhz. Very odd but its still working.

The problem with FSB speeds today is

There is no FSB. Rather than lose a lot of time on FSB speeds on today's CPUs, try benchmarking to see if it matters.

Ram

What you have is 1333 ram.
"If" you have a cpu that supports 1600 ram you might see...repeat might see... a small bump with an upgrade.
I would not spend much money on this.

Your call.
