Will this work

Jul 18, 2005 7:59AM PDT

Will the following setup run World of Warcraft or Battlefield 2 smoothly? I will upgrade to the 6800 gt or ultra 256 in a few months, or just add another 6600gt using sli.

AMD Athlon? 64 X2 4400+ Processor with HyperTransport and Dual Core Technology
PC Power & Cooling 510 Express 650 Watt peak power
Alienware

I'll write no.

Today's games are written to stress tomorrow's hardware. To get it to run smoothly we only need to pull back on the effects or maybe the resolution. No known hardware can (for example) run the latest Doom in it's highest settings and glory. The programmers wanted to push it out there so when new hardware arrives it will be ready to devour the new hardware.

...why would you think that it won't work?

bf2 played on my ati x300! i currently have a 6600gt and i play with medium settings(all except low dynamic light and low shadows, with 100% draw distance) and also at my lcd's resolution of 1280x1024 and manage to get over 60fps...with an intel pentium 4 3ghz cpu!

YOU WILL HAVE NO TROUBLE PLAYING THIS GAME(BF2) NO MATTER WHAT ANYONE ELSE SAYS.
