As you have a desktop computer, my experience suggests that you might be better off with a PCI type adapter (of any brand) because they tend to give better reception.
Only downside is that installation can be problematic (follow the instructions to the letter) compared to USB.
Hi all new to the forums
I am thinking about buying the Belkin N+ USB Wireless Adapter from Bestbuy.
Here : http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Belkin+-+Wireless-N%2B+USB+2.0+Adapter/8993903.p?id=1218007083590&skuId=8993903#tabbed-customerreviews
I am getting this for my desktop computer which is placed moderately away from the laptop which I am currently using. I get two bars of signal for my laptop and it came with an Atheros Wireless Adapter.I once bought a Prolink Wireless N USB Adapter and tried to connect my desktop but it failed to receive the signal
I have tried placing the router in different positions but this seems to work best for me since I am far from the Adapter.
I was left hopeless but all the good reviews on this Belkin made me wanna try it out again. I am currently using a D-Link DIR300 Wireless G( Yes i kno its time to upgrade to N but I just use it for surfing so it doesn't matter).
Do you guys think this Belkin will solve my problem with Wireless Range?
Please help me
