Question

Will these parts be compatible?

Mar 13, 2013 1:13PM PDT

I'm spending $1300 on a my first gaming pc build, and these where the parts I picked out. As far as I can tell they should be high performing and compatible together, but I've never built a pc before so I'm not sure.

Based off of some help I've gotten on this and another forum, I have picked out the parts bellow and was wondering if they where compatible together.

Intel Core i5-3570K Ivy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 77W Quad-Core

ASUS P8Z77-V LE PLUS LGA 1155 Intel Z77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel motherboard

GIGABYTE GV-R795WF3-3GD Radeon HD 7950 3GB 384-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card

G.SKILL Ripjaws X Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) Desktop Memory Model F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive -Bare Drive

Rosewill REDBONE U3 Black SECC Steel USB 3.0, eSATA, 3x 120mm Fans Mid Tower Computer Case

SAMSUNG B350 Series S22B350H Transparent Red 21.5" 2ms GTG HDMI Widescreen LED Backlight LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 Mega Infinity DCR (1000:1)

Windows 7 64 bit

Would this be a good gaming set up, and will the parts be compatible? I can provide links to the products on newegg as well if that helps.

that I already have a drive from an older computer. I'm not buying a new one because I want to invest in blue ray in the future.

Still looks good from here and I've thrown in one suggestion

I took your advice

on the RAM and swapped those out.

Avoiding problems with the DOA thing was part of why I picked out the gigabyte. It's pretty well rated, at least compared to a lot of others.

Is there any difference in the 900MHz core clock on the GIGABYTE and the 850MHz on the SAPPHIRE below?

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16814202006

I know the gigabyte is voltage locked and can have a little coil whine. I don't plan on over clocking really, but that's the only difference I saw in the two.

I cant really buy local, most places around here would have to special order parts for me.

Re the Gigabyte GPU....Looked like a fair number of DOAs

was the only reason I looked for alternatives ...mainly to avoid that major problem. All the money saved by online buys for that item goes out the windows plus the time lost. Did you check the Powercolor GPU ?

Re the core clock...my thought is no.
