Resolved Question

Will the XPeria Play get Ice Cream Sandwich?

Dec 17, 2011 5:15AM PST

Hey everyone,
I am living in Ireland and I recently came across the Sony Ericsson XPeria Play for €149.99 out of contract (a great deal in my opinion because I am too young for a contract). I like the look of it and tried it instore and liked it too. I heard some rumours that Sony Ericsson will deliver an Ice Cream Sandwich update in the new year. I think this would finalise my decision on a new phone if there was truth to it. Can anybody tell me if there is any truth to this? And, if so, when could I expect it? Thanks a million for your help!

Can't really tell you BECAUSE ...

there are a couple of models of the phone (one is the 4G).

This link however seems to indicate that the phone can be updated with the latest Android version:

The above link offers up other topics of interest too and this one pertains to Android 4

It really is hard to tell

I see what you mean. I am looking at the 3G model because there aren't even any plans for 4G in Ireland yet. But I get the impression that the upgrade would be brought to both because it is a pretty popular phone here. Thanks for your help and I see now that it can be pretty hard to get rock-solid information out of Sony Ericsson! Nice Gaeilge by the way!
