Will Panasonic Plasma sync with Sony receiver?

by mcf57 / April 6, 2012 10:09 AM PDT

I have a 40" Sony HDTV and recently bought a Sony HD Home Theater receiver. I then basically connected both of them via an HDMI cable. Unknowingly, I noticed both pretty much sync up together when I control the Sony TV's volume & power. I thought it was the "BRAVIA" syncing feature & it may very well be, but I also recently learned about something called HDMI CEC.

I mention this cause I'm now looking to possibly get a 50" Panasonic Plasma (TC-P50UT50). Was hoping that if I connect this Pansasonic Plasma to my Sony HD receiver, this HDMI CEC would allow them to partially sync up (at least volume and power).

Would this be possible?
