Question

Will nightly app use while charging damage battery?

Aug 31, 2015 1:38AM PDT

Specifically, using both a music app like Pandora or other plus the phone's light application, all through the night. Will doing this, while keeping it on charge, on a nightly basis risk damage to the battery?

All batteries have a finite number of times that they can be charged and discharged so, eventually, the battery will die.

I don't believe that your use of the iPhone will not accelerate that process, although you may want to consider using another form of night light. Happy

Batteries have finite lifespan so use means we use up some of the lifespan. It would be un-useful to not use the device in order to save the battery as we bought the device to be used.

Damage? No. Wear? Yes.
