Will my video card support this monitor?

Sep 25, 2006 10:41AM PDT

I'm thinking of buying a 20" widescreen LCD (either the dell 2007WFP or Samsung 205BW) and I was wondering if my video card will support the native resolution of 1680x1050. I've read that the samsung requires Dual-link DVI, but I'm not sure what that means or if my card supports it. I have an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro (I think its a pro, system properties says "ATI RADEON 9600 PRO Family (Microsoft Corp.")

Will my graphics card support the monitor, and if not what is a good inexpensive card that will. I'm planning on using the monitor mainly for photoshop/web design. Also, I have both DVI and VGA inputs on the card so will I be able to use my existing 17" LCD as a second monitor?

Thanks in advance for your help.
