The same essential key-down and key-up codes are probably generated by either keyboard for nearly all the keys - the common keys (A-Z, numeric, keypad, Fkeys, even most if not all of the media keys) BUT what will be different is that the driver for the Microsoft keyboard will not recognize the manufacturer specific brand code also detectable.
The drivers will detect and expect certain manufacturer codes and perhaps even specific model numbers. Your Logitech keyboard is not going to be recognized by the Microsoft software.
Now, if you were a software engineer, or even very knowledgeable software hacker you could hack into the brand/model detecting code to alter it so that one would be seen as the other. But, if you were that smart you would not have asked the question to begin with.
(NOT that I am saying you are not smart, it is just that to hack code is something not for the untrained. I have a lot of software and hardware knowledge, and yet I could not do what I am suggesting either.)
Utilities Folks:
The full title of this post actually is: Will Logitech G110 Gaming Keyboard Work With "Microsoft IntelliType Pro 7.1 Keyboard Software for Windows - 64bit"?
I have both the G110 and the free Pro 7.1 IntelliType download. However, when I began IntelliType installation I found a long list of compatible Microsoft keyboards. No other keyboard vendors were listed. Has anyone tried IntelliType with the G110? What were the compatibility results?
Any comments would be useful.
