Will Linksys range extenders work with other router brands?

by roshkovsky / October 5, 2006 2:07 AM PDT

My Linksys WRT54G died. Won't power up when plugged in. I can only assume it is fried. So I need to replace it. But I am not sure it was the best performing router. Lots of dropped connections, etc. Can anyone recommend a different brand that will work with the Linksys wireless range extender or would be stonger than the Linksys and eliminate the need for an extender altogether? My router is about 50 ft from a wireless laptop and an iMac with wireless.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
