Sep 7, 2005 4:11AM PDT

I keep thinking if I would spend more money to get a hi-def d.v.d. player I have my DENON 2900 d.v.d. player output with a d.v.i. interface to my hi-def t.v. set my player to 1080 and I get a stunning d.v.d. picture. would you folks move up to hi-def ?

I would change my smasung upconverter for a BLu-Ray player which plays HD resolutions but has a greater storage capacity.

Just wait awhile

Stewie,

Take the money out of your pocket so it doesn't burn a hole and sit back awhile and wait. Your Denon is a great DVD player. HD DVD players will take over in the near future, but you need to "chill" until the major studios and video manufacturers decide what path they will take. It's still being developed. The good thing is that the new HD DVD players will be downward compatible, so we will be able to play our SD DVDs without throwing them away. When a decision is made as to what HD path to take, our computer's DVD players/burners and DVD media will all need to be changed. It's all good stuff.
