The cost of switches and more may cost as much as a monitor to avoid all this.
I have a PC with 2 monitors (Asus VS228H-P/VS228 21.5 inch and Asus VG248QE 24-inch) and an Xbox One, along with an Elgato HD60, a microphone, webcam, keyboard and mouse. Now this may get confusing, but I will try to put it into words as best as possible.
My PC is connected to my 24 inch Asus via DVI and also an audio cable. I have the 21.5 inch monitor hooked straight into the PC with an HDMI cable.
The Xbox One is hooked up to the 24 inch Asus's only HDMI port, however, since the Elgato HD60 is there, the HDMI cable from the Xbox One runs into the Elgato HD60 and then one runs from the Elgato into the monitor.
The microphone, webcam, keyboard and mouse, and Elgato are all hooked into the PC's USB ports.
I keep trying to switch from using the PC to playing the Xbox One on the same monitor. However, I switch the desktop so it only shows up on the 21.5 inch monitor. When I switch the main monitor (24 inch) to HDMI input, it doesn't detect the Xbox.
What can I do to get all of this working together??
