a lot more than just a dead pixel.
A dead pixel would only give you a single spot of light, or dark, and not a vertical line.
Get on the phone to Apple and report this now. Do NOT delay. This is covered by the warranty.

As long as you report this within the warranty period, they will fix it. Do not tell them that you can live with it.
When you call in, make sure you get an incident number. That is the number that will prove the problem occurred while the machine was under warranty.
