Question

Will an i5 4670 bottleneck a gtx 1070 on 1080p?

Sep 10, 2017 7:40AM PDT

Hey guys,
As the title says:
I'm planing to buy a new computer sometime but I think that I may stick with my old computer and just upgrade my GPU!
So, I plan to stick to 1080p gaming but I fear that the CPU might bottleneck the GPU - Should I buy a 1440p monitor to remove the importance of the old CPU ?

The old i5 2500 was known to be able to feed three GPUs so there is no issue here with your newer CPU.

Very few of today's games will lean on the cpu.
Your I5 should be fine.

Monitor.
It's your call if you want to go to 1440p.
