wii u console and games

I was wondering if I can play my wii games on the new wii u, I can't wait for the wii u comes out, that should be challeging.I'm planing to buy the wii u as soo as I can. Next question are there going to be any wii u racing games, like cars etc. I havesn't seen any yet. Also your not going to believe this but I still have the nitendo atarey in the box with 15 to 20 games and it still work. Yes I'm a nitendo girl.
