beta version

I DL'd the beta version of it for free and I thought it sucked since there are so many plug-ins that it doesn't have.

Wouldn't say that it totally sucked

Yeah, I downloaded it for free before they began charging for it.
I wouldn't say that it totally sucked, just that it was no where near as easy to use as a PC web browser because of the lack of a keyboard (and because of the lack of plug ins).
When I first downloaded it, I did try and use it to watch a video (possibly youtube, but I can't really remember) and the video wouldn't play.
Would work fine if it was your only option to surf the net, but if you have a PC somewhere nearby I just can't see anyone using it over that option.

Barebones

If you're looking for a bareboned browser ... it'great. You can do all the research you want.

But like mentioned above, whenever you need a plug-in, that's when the deficiencies stand-out ... so no videos or music.

But it was great tool when I did vacation research from my couch. I just laid there and pointed the controller to my 42" TV.

I think the only real use for the Wii browser is to check headline news, sports scores, and weather....oh wait they already have an app that does all that!

Wii browser is the suck.

Could be better with some work.....and money.......

I belive that the Wii : Linux Project has a nice browser in it. But this will cost you some money as you have to buy Drive Doctor to put Linux on it. Why would you even want to do more than look at text on the Wii. Do you want to play Java games or something.....you have a computer!!! Use it. You could also set your computer up to detect motion from the WiiMote (The wii controller) with some Bluetooth device. Not sure what it is called.
