Question

Wifi works fine on all pc except for one.

by ahsifs / December 8, 2015 6:51 PM PST

My pc is running super slow wifi speeds starting about 4 days ago, used to pull 52mbps now I'm pulling ~.93maps

Things I've tried
•Malwarebytes&Ccleaner in safemode
•run speedtest in safemode (no change)
•Uninstall/reinstall drivers
•Replaced router
•Replaced wireless card
•restored pc to before the problem started
•Adjusted wifi channels
•Unplugged unnecessary devices (wireless headset/chargers)

Can't figure this out can anyone help me?
My rig
Windows 7 ultimate
MSI motherboard A9750m
Gtx 970
250 Radeon SSD
Neatgear n600 router

I'll update this once I have everything in front of me.
Any help is appreciated!

I'd check the system event log for ERROR entries.

Be aware that this log is very cryptic, but it could give you clues as to what's going on. It sounds like you could be going through some kind of repeated error recovery.

Good luck.

If that's the case

Would a fresh install fix this problem? Once I get home I'll check the log and dump any helpful information here... trying to figure out if it's a hardware or software problem at this point

Answer
connection

all connections will show connected, but that doesn't mean it will pass information to and from internet. If it couldn't connect then how could it verify you as having set up the proper SSID, the encryption method WEP WPA WPA2, and the proper passphrase or number key?

If it won't show connection, verify you have the proper drivers for your wifi installed on the computer. Those come from computer manufacturer, motherboard site, or the actual wifi chip producer.
