Question

Wifi speeds significantly slower than wired connection

Nov 13, 2015 5:40PM PST

I have recently set up a new router and have found that although my wired connection usually runs around 100 Mbps, doing a speedtest on wireless devices shows about 0.5Mbps.

What would cause such a large difference in speeds?

The router is a NETGEAR N300, and I have tried multiple channels but it did not help.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks

Did you fail to find that area in your router's browser control pages?

Yes, I have checked in all the control pages. On the wireless settings page, the mode is set to "up to 300Mbps"
