WiFi router recommendation

by rkslperez / April 10, 2007 3:15 AM PDT

My house has three computers; the primary computer is the desktop which is where the Linksys-G is hooked up too, then we have two laptops that have internal WiFi capibilties.

Seems like if all three of computers are using the interent at the same time, very common in this house, one of us gets kicked off or slows our speed down to 24.0Mbps.

Also, lately I've been accessing and network channels ABC or NBC to watch some of their online episodes, but the videos start and stop...I'm assuming connection problems being the primary desktop does not have these problems.

can you someone recommend a good router that will handle high internet traffic and streaming videos?

do you have wireless phones operating at 2.4GHz? this could cause some interference if you do try using A because this uses 5.0GHz

router choice
by njneiljones100 / April 27, 2007 2:57 PM PDT

try netgear(g) router, dont bother with version n yet too many compatibility errors yet. Or wait till all errors get sorted. I use version g with internal wifi and perfect connection and speed, I get a problem when i go in garden with it though, think it may be interference or too far away. Dont go paying top dollar for any though cos they do roughly the same job, a bonus is if ya get a free dongle-watch out some do it free.
