Question

Wifi router connection problems

I have a dlink router installed at home with cable net which works absolutely fine on some devices and absolutely not oon others.

It works fine with not a single complain with
Dell inspiron laptop
Samsung galaxy s4

Keeps disconnecting or dosent connnect at all with
Xiaomi redmi note3
Ipad mini
Iphone 5s
Windows mobile
Htc phone

Plz help me..i tried connecting these devices to other networks and they work just fine...i even changed my router channel to 1,6 and 11 as suggested by others but all in vain..even tried static ip settings but failed

Please help me

Dlink DIR605L firmware ver. 1.11
DHCP server enabled, PPPoE connection, channel 11 (though i tried all others)

And my xiaomi device has no such wifi problems with other wifi connections only with my home wifi..please help

If it works all other places, try a new router.

But you left out which version you had. A or B?

Also, 1.11 is years old. Did you update the router firmware yet? I'd do that first.

I think it might be your routers transmit frequency.

Wifi transmits at the radio frequency of 2.5ghz and 5ghz and depending on your router it transmits on one, either, or both. Some devices aren't designed to receive both frequencies. You can log in to your router by typing it's ip address in your favorite browsers search bar to find out which Frequencies it transmits on. If your router has the option in its wifi settings, try changing the frequency and see if all of your devices connect. The best option is to invest in a dual band router that transmits on both so that you don't have to worry about it at all.

It seems that some are odd ball and not tablet friendly. Sometimes the free spots are "full." That is, there may be no more free connections.
