Question

WIFI Range Extender installation

Aug 16, 2016 10:39AM PDT

Need assistance with NETGEAR Range Extender AC1200 Model EX6150. I have not been able to connect it to my existing WIFI. When I attempt to connect using the Web Browser Setup I receive an error message from my server. The router from my internet company does not have a WPS button that I can press; just a light that stays on. Help please!!

Answer
This is sadly typical of range extenders.

If Netgear support fails, return and look at other solutions. I like the powerline wifi systems and the cheap "router as a WAP."

My office and that means me included will not deploy these extenders due to continuing issues with many models.

Answer
I see this can be used as a WAP.

Try that next.
