Question

Wifi in the Highlands

Aug 8, 2017 1:19AM PDT

Hi guys,

I'm going on holiday to a very remote part of the Highlands. Do you know if there is a product I can buy to get wifi there?

There are no other wifi networks and no phone signal (nearest place is about 2 hours away!)

Thanks in advance

For WiFi you need to be at a distance of 50 meters (at most) from a wireless router connected to Internet itself. So it seems an easy no.

The alternatives are:
- Wimax (range of 25 km)
- 3G, 4G, 5G phone connection
- Satellite

Better prepare for a quiet holiday without Internet, unless you have a satellite dish on your RV (camper) or caravan. Then all you need is the right subscription.
