WiFi Hotspot with Wireless router

by ErikkFriberg / March 29, 2014 2:14 AM PDT

Equipment used:

Samsung/Google Galaxy/Nexus (FoxFi/PdaNet+)
Cisco Linksys WRT100

When I lived in town I had cable internet. Now I live so far out, cable and DSL are not available. So now I have my cell phone (w/ unlimited or unthrottled internet). Is there a way to use my old router and my cell phone to make a home wireless network with multiple devices?

Basic setup desired:
Internet via phone into my router
Connected to my router: 2 printers, 2 iPads, 1 iPod (possibly a second), 1 smart phone, possibly 2 laptops, 1 TV,1 Blu-Ray player, and possibly other devices as needed.

Here are the ideas I have in the order I prefer, but I cant figure out how to do them...

1) Connect wireless internet "through" the router (wirelessly)
2) Tether my phone through my laptop and connect my laptop via either net to the router.
3) Connect some kind of bridge/repeater type device.
4) Get a different router.
5) Other way I don't know about.*

I really don't know how to do any of these things, but I am usually pretty quick at learning IT type stuff.

Help if you can.

*If another way that is better and/or easier than any of the first 4, then it will be the preferred method.

How about you try it without that for now. How about VIRTUAL ROUTER after you tether your phone?
