wifi epson printer

Jan 8, 2015 11:13PM PST

I recently bought a bundle for my daughter for Christmas which included an acer notebook and an Epson wireless printer, when trying to set it up and connect the notebook to the Epson printer via bluetooth i'm prompted to enter a code for the Epson printer which i'm informed should be on the packaging or in the paperwork, I've tried every serial code i can find in the paper work only to be told that didn't work please try again. Out of frustration i contact the Epson help center and i am put through to a technician who baffles me with computer jargon and informs me that my IP address has been compromised and some of my email accounts have been hacked (he shows me some fancy graphs and systems analysis.) He then tells me he can fix the problem but will cost 135 pound to cover one device in the household and considerably more to cover all devices ie smart phones tablets etc. i ONLY RANG UP TO GET THEM TO TELL ME WHAT SERIAL CODE I HAD TO ENTER AND WHERE I COULD FIND IT ON THE PACKAGING. Am i being scammed can anybody help or advise please.

Wireless printing

Model numbers of notebook and printer might help. Also wireless hook up/hardware being used router..ISP etc. Does the notebook function with your wireless hook up? Generally you would likely be hooking up via wifi from your modem/router system...not B/T, so a bit more information could help.

Almost always it's 0000

But bluetooth is harder to setup than WiFi as there are many more requirements and caveats. Some antivirus suites also block this.

I'd just use the USB cable when you need to print.
