Question

WIFI dropping issues

Mar 4, 2018 8:49AM PST

I am having issues with ALL devices randomly losing Internet access. This is affecting multiple computers, phones, tablets etc.

The WIFI signal is not affected, it continues to show strong signal and everything is fine as far as the WIFI icon is concerned.
However, I have discovered that I cannot even ping the gateway (router) when this is occurring.
It might last 10-30 seconds, then everything will come back again, but this is continuous throughout the day, and of course causes a ton of problems.

The other weird thing is that it does not affect all devices at the same time. My computer might be fine, but someone else's will lose the connection.

I have an ASUS AC68U, which I have of course rebooted many times, I have the latest firmware installed, there is nothing newer.

If our company sends out a tech, the tech would carry another router along for testing. This of course won't fix a failing router, just find out if it's that.

From the information given, your router seems ok. Its good if you get in touch with the ISP to make sure everything is at hand.
