Question

Wifi dongles needed for LG 60LB7100

Aug 25, 2014 10:32AM PDT

I recently bought an LG 60LB7100 Smart TV and it works fantastic, except the only problem is the wireless internet is painfully slow on it. I can sometimes get the browser and YouTube to work pretty well, but getting Netflix to run is pretty much a crap shoot. The internet runs perfectly fine when wired, but I would prefer to run it wirelessly. The manual that came with the TV shows a picture that apparently demonstrates that it can connect to the internet using a wifi dongle or without one. I'm assuming the dongle connects to the USB port in the back and extends its range? I looked the wifi dongles up on LG's website, but I can't find one that works specifically with my TV model. And in the item description it tells you to make sure that your TV is in its list of supported models. Can somebody please help me out? I don't want to end up buying something that won't work for my TV. Thanks!

"Run away"?

Wireless is more troublesome than wired so if wired is acting up, going to WiFi is not going to help. And I don't see ANY dongle offering. If you want to stick with WiFi, reduce the distance from the WiFi router to the TV. That always seems to help.

Can't keep it wired.

The wired internet isn't acting up, I prefer to connect wirelessly. Wired internet works fine on my TV. The wired port on my router currently connected to my TV is where I had one of my game consoles connected. I want to connect the TV wirelessly so I can give that port back to my console. Also, relocating the TV or the router isn't an option. Are there any other options?

Sure. Use a hub.
